VerdEnergia is an invaluable life experience for all who encompass her. Our tribal intention is clear: We must make choices based on sustainable, organic eco-conscious values and practice them everyday. Accountability is our purpose. Permaculture is our model. We are synthesizing the positive changes needed to bring our planet back to optimal health and balance. We need to recast the problems of the world into new opportunities for growth and a different way of life.

Help us build the Permaculture world that is possible.  We are working on projects from cob flooring to co-op fuel production.

The container is transforming quickly.  We are raising the roof on Thursday.  We built 5 trusses for this house.  We helped bring hundreds of boards down from Carlos’s finca.  I will get some pictures loaded this weekend.

Cooperativos!

  • After years of trying to figure out how my tribe would free themselves of the bonds of capitalism I found some amazing answers in simple places.  Cooperatives for one.  I know many of us believe we can not get truly local with all of our food.  But we can.  We need not slave away individually and meek out a living.  We must join together and support each other.  Go to your local farmers market this week.  Find a farm that does (CSA) Community Supported Agriculture.  Buy a share.  Eat healthy and homemade food.  Empower your kitchen!

Bamboo Flooring

Biodigestors Coming Soon!

We had a second meeting today to discuss and plan building biodigestors for most of the homes in Lanas. La Zona Biological Paso De Las Lapas is offering a grant for projects to address climate change.  They will be paying for all of the materials for the construction.

Below is a photo of the building of the Biodigestor at Rancho Mastatal.  They have an amazing example that we would like to duplicate.

We are reaching out for pledged donations to help pay for the labor to construct them.

Any students wanting to help or people with experience that want to help are welcome.  We want to come up with a system design that is easy and cheap to fix with local materials. Construction should begin in July.

Weekly Classes

We have so many talented people at the farm always it seems.  We have started weekly workshops.  From gardens to fire spinning teachers are ready and willing to share.
