Tilapia Pond
Just added three new ponds!

When we purchased the farm a little pond was already dug out near our garden area.

With 10 of us working together it took us no time to get the rock and sand moved into the pit.

Lisa, Jan, Steve, Willy, Samantha, Mike, Carlos, Omar & Joshua spent a day
bringing up sand and rock to line the pond. Hard but rewarding work as a team!
Carlos and Homer got the water and drainage completed.

We collected about 25 or 30 talapia the next day from a pond nearby.
They're small but should be big enough to eat in a few months.

We hope to have up to 200 fish growing to sustain our tribes seafoood needs.

We are trying to catch some our fish this week. Not as easy as one might think:) We have dozens of Tilapia ready to eat almost all of the time!
Our success with this pond has inspired us to build 4 or 5 more around the land and really get serious about our aqua culture.
