BioDieselNEW JATROPHA PICTURES AND INFO! 6/11/2009! This is a summary of our intentions with the reconstruction of the forest and the creation of the infrastructure needed to support farmers in Puriscal with Jatropha and bio fuels production. Above are photos of our biodiesel process. This is a summary of our intentions with the reconstruction of the forest and the creation of the infrastructure needed to support farmers in Puriscal with Jatropha and bio fuels production.
The need to reconstruct the jungle in Costa Rica is extreme. Thousands of farms are dissolving into the rivers and oceans. Developing a plan that will benefit people as well as the environment is the only answer. Families in the countryside have few options that will support them. Many turn to cattle or logging for income, which only accelerates the loss of vital eco systems and erosion. Our vision is to help keep farmers in control of their land while building the feed-stock needed for a successful bio fuels program. Too many times in the past business has forgotten to take care of the people and the land. Now is the time to rebuild the small farm and the communities around them. With only a couple of farms in a small community producing Jatropha oil, all of their energy needs can be met. Removing almost completely the need for foreign sources of polluting petroleum products. Partnerships are a key ingredient to the success of this program. Other people in Costa Rica have been experimenting with Jatropha and have many wonderful things to share. Farmers selling land to foreigners contributes to higher inflationary rates and raises the cost of living to the point that locals can not survive without moving into the cities. Jatropha offers a chance for farms to support themselves and create opportunities for their children. In the past people found oil fields, now we are planting them. VerdEnergia in co-operation with Atlantis Energy are assisting the government with the roll out of a national bio fuels program. We have many exciting projects on the horizon. We have lots of work to do to keep spreading the seeds of bio crops to more family farms. We are excited to update everyone on the progress. |
