Gardens & Swales

Our ultimate goal is to grow our own food and energy in a permaculture and organic way. We've been working the soil, composting, and building up the gardens in preparation for the rainy season when the plants will thrive.

2010 so far has been great for our gardens. We have harvested and are now planting thousand and thousands of seeds and starts. So far in march we have planted Corn, Yucca, Papa Chinos, Ginger, Spinach, Katuk, Velvet beans, Basil, Papaya, Sweet Potatoes, Tomatoes, Squash, Tskisgi and much more!

Swales, swales, swales. The name of our wet season this year. We are building contour swales on every face of hill with gardens. It is hard but rewarding work. Come on down and help.
