Jatropha NEWS!

We just got the funding to start planting another 100 acres of Jatropha. A gift from European countries is funding our regions bio fuels test crops.

Volunteers needed for this planting season April 2010 thru November 2010.

Jatropha is a miracle plant when it comes to bio diesel. Each tree can produce between 1/2 and 2 gallons a year of fuel.

We have planted close to 9,000 trees on our farm. We have also been mix cropping in dozens of other species of edibles oils, plants, and other bio fuel crops.

This will be plenty of seeds to help the rest of the farms in Lanas get planted. We also plant more trees from cuttings.

We are part of a project that is building a bio fuels station along the main road to the beach.

We have planted nearly 800 more Jatropha this last few months. February/March 2009

In the dry season we must water anywhere from once to twice a week depending on the weather.

In July of 2010 we pruned all of our trees.
